just plug in a number which tends to positive and negative infinity to see what the function behaves as at the end points... for eg. if u plug a really big positive number as imran says u will see that the fubction tends to +∞

similarly if u see it at -∞ it again tends to -∞ , so you can describe the function at the end as ut tends to positive as x tends infinity and negative infinity when x tends to negative infinity..
