35,40,75,38,39,37,80,85,40,65,67,70,30,39,42,56 59,78,36 what will be the class width of that data and how to calculate it????

OpenStudy (amistre64):

calss width is subjective; it depends on how many classes you want to put it in

OpenStudy (amistre64):

take the range and divide it by how many classes you want

OpenStudy (amistre64):

highest - lowest ------------- = class width (round up if a decimal) #of classes

OpenStudy (hesan):

First we have to calculate the range

OpenStudy (amistre64):

right, which is just high - low

OpenStudy (amistre64):

or low - high and strip the negative

OpenStudy (hesan):

and then divide the anser by any of the Number which is divisible

OpenStudy (amistre64):

sort {....} in wolfram helps :)

OpenStudy (hesan):

But if the answer of the range is any prime number such as 59 then.....

OpenStudy (amistre64):

so we are at 55 range, whats our # of classes? tends to be between 5 and 20

OpenStudy (hesan):

What i can't understand it..... Plz explain

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i did explain. range/class# = class width i found the range, whats our number of classes?

OpenStudy (hesan):

if we take 59 as 60. as it is little bit greater than 59 and than divide it .So it is Right.....

OpenStudy (hesan):

Actually i am talking about the prime number.... Because it is easy to dive the number such as 28 , 86 , 70 etc

OpenStudy (amistre64):

im not familiar with any prime number method.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

must be text specific to your course i spose

OpenStudy (hesan):

Yeh u r right

OpenStudy (hesan):

Suggest me a site for that...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

http://www.emathematics.net/tablas.php?tipo=tabla2 is more along what im used to

OpenStudy (hesan):

Thanks..

OpenStudy (amistre64):

hope it helps :)
