Whats the best way of physically cleaning inside my desktop tower, which is very dusty?

I usually just vacuum it.  I have not got in trouble yet.

I have a small handheld vacuum with a reusable filter and attachments that I use. Just be careful around the mobo.

I too have used a regular vacuum cleaner hundreds of times and nothing has gone wrong...there is always a first time though.

The right way to do it would be compressed air though.

Actually, both vacuuming and compressed air have their advantages and disadvantages.  Vacuuming is good at not just pushing dust around from point a to point b within your enclosure, but most vacuum attachment tend to collect quite a lot of static electricity which can be quite harmful to your motherboard and other electronic components.  So, unless you have a grounded(statically neutral) vacuum attachment, you should probably stick with using compressed air.  Take your unit outside if possible, or at least in an area where all the dust you stir up by blowing your enclosure, will not hopefully end up getting sucked back in to your PC when you close it up and turn it back on.  I do highly recommend vacuuming up the dust around your pc when you are done cleaning it.  Oh yeah, don't forget to make sure your unit is unplugged and blow out all the fan blades on the cpu, power supply, and case fans, too.

Yeah, I would not really recommend a regular vacuum at all. The small vacuum I use is specifically designed for use inside your computer. Something like this: http://bit.ly/zXQ0cm Mine was a bit more expensive than that, but the same idea.

I use one of those canned air cylinders; easily chases the dust bunnies out. Flammable stuff, though. My m8s use a powered 'vacuum' blower thingy.

Whatever you use, do it with care.
