i would be interested in knowing if any of the proteins in the glyco protein matrix namely teniscin-c,laminin-1 or fibronectin could be used to evoke motor potential post stroke.

OpenStudy (spiderman):

I am unsure by what you mean my "evoke" motor potentials as they are electrical responses to stimulation not proteins. I am assuming you are pondering some sort of treatment related to glycoproteins. The short answer is no you can't evoke an electrical response with a glycoprotein. I would recommend reading about glial scarring and spinal cord injury as glycoprotein matrixes play more of a role in SCI and you can still look at MEP's as a measure of functional outcome. Why have you decided that you want to look at stroke?

i tried to reply but wound up making another profile...now to your answer...soliciting proteins from the matrix is a part of a controlled stem cell procedure. knowing that proximal placement is invasive yet successful in European trials as opposed to the assertion that direct injection is hypothetically possible...well that is a myth...im basing that on the fact that the cell itself is deliberately vague. the progenitor by placement would go on to make an A symmetrical cell division...another stem cell and a committed progenitor and give rise to one or more differentiated cell types...the action suggests that controlled regional inflammation would solicit not only glyco proteins but enzymes like poly[adp ribose]polymearase-1 and microglial and macrophage cells while controlling cytokine toxicity is possible. the progenitors in essence = future fate by virtue of what factors were used...there are currency issues to be sure...i know functional peptide sequences derived from extra cellular matrix glyco proteins have the potential to function as potent therapeutic reagents to increase neuronal regeneration following said insult...microglial cells are actually first responders along with macrophage cells in a cerebral ischemia....just looking for a way to incorporate current...and my actual profile is T.J Barbieri
