a+b=11 a-b=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16/7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hold on :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

re you asking if A and B are 16 and 7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that was the answer i got. but i really dont know how to do the problem so I dont know if that is the correct answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, if a and b are 16 and 7, then it wouldn't work, because 16 + 7 = 23, and 16 - 7 = 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i canceled the 3y's out and added 2x and 5x which gave me 7x and then added 5+11 and got 16 and then divided.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but i really dont know how to do it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well heck I dont even knwo what problem im doing here lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait, wahat was original problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol typos, sry XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol ive messed up. the problem i just explained is 2x-3y=5 and 5x-3y=11

OpenStudy (anonymous):

'kay, hold on , I'm gonna figure it out :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you solving by any sort of way in particular? Like Substitution or something ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it just says using elimination by addition or subtraction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay :D almost done

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait, when I was solving it, I found there was no solution, so if the problem asks if there is a solution/no solution, then there is no solution... :D Unless I did it wrong, but I rarely get this wrong.
