i got to different two answers which should i believe and why

Maybe a review of your lesson on heat transfer would resolve the issue.

To be honest, it might be convection, but conduction is a direct transfer of heat through molecular action within the material. I am assuming water as the material and heat transfers as a result of molecular action. However UnkleRhaukus may have it right also.

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

conduction refers to heat transfer is solids convection refers to heat transfer in fluids
