solve for y. dy/dt=sin(t-y)+sin(t+y). hint: use trig id

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what trig id??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your second part transforms into 2cos(y(t))sin(t). That the trig identity you want to use.

thank you

Glad to help :)

i found something similar to yours... sinu+sinv=2sin((u+v)/2)cos((u-v)/2) =2sin[((t-y)+(t+y))/2]cos[((t-y)+(t+y))/2] =2sin(t)cos(-y) so now i'm confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or...are u and v derivatives?

o nevermind, got it
