Is your second equation right?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes
myininaya (myininaya):
Ok just making sure
so you can actually solve he second equation for x
OpenStudy (cwrw238):
from 2nd equation
x = 66
plug this into first
8(66) - 30 = y
y = 498
x=66,y=498
myininaya (myininaya):
\[7x-8x=-66\]
\[-1x=-66 => x=66\]

lol cwrw already got it
OpenStudy (anonymous):
That is what I came up with to but the test answer was different
myininaya (myininaya):
Maybe it was a type-o i bet
myininaya (myininaya):
that one x is suppose to be a y
myininaya (myininaya):
i wonder if we pretend it was a y if we could find the solution it was looking for

maybe
\[7x=8y-66\] or
\[7y=8x-66\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
The answer was (3,-6)
hero (hero):
deanmary, you probably typed the equation wrong.
myininaya (myininaya):
He said it was right. It might have been a type-o on the test. That is always possible.
You should totally tell your teacher deanmary so you don't get penalized for it.
