OpenStudy (travis):

6x/3 = 2x 2x + 2x +4/x *multiply x to all terms, 4x^2+4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it says here the answer is 14x+y /6

OpenStudy (travis):

What? how come is there y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ohh crap i wrote the wrong one..its 6x/3 + 2x+y/6

OpenStudy (travis):

Your answer is wrong it should be 4x + y/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not my answer it in the aqa answer booklet

OpenStudy (travis):

how can 6/3 +2 = 14?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the slash is over so its 6x over 3 plus 2x+y over 6

OpenStudy (travis):

Are you new to algebra?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

OpenStudy (travis):

Okay so what is 6x over 3 + 2x

OpenStudy (precal):

I bet 2x + 4 is really (2x+4)

OpenStudy (precal):

kats use ( ) to enclose what is over ie (2x+4)/x is that what you meant?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I wrote that bit wrong the actual equatin is (6x)/3+(3x+y)/6

OpenStudy (anonymous):
