anyone know how to graph 4x-5y=12 ? i got it to y=12-4x-5 but idk if thats even right...

try x = 0 x = 1 and x = 2..... you'll get a corresponding y value for each x.... plot the points and then draw a line through the points...

or find the x intercept by letting y = 0 and solving...y intercept let x = 0 and solve for y

Ok first you have to get the y alone so subtract the x.

-5y = -4x + 12

Y cannot be positive, so you must divide/multiply by -1.

5y = 4x - 12

Y must be alone, you need to get rid of the five, so divide everything by 5.

Y= 4/5x - 12/5

Your slope is rise 4 run 5, and you need to graph at the point -12/5 on the Y axis, so thats -2.4

You go down to -12/5, or -2.4 on the Y axis. Then you use your slope to continue the line, going up 4 then over 5 times, and repeating. Get it?
