can you change
\[ 3 \frac{5}{12} \] into an improper fraction?
you get
\[ \frac{3*12+5}{12} = \frac{41}{12} \]
now change the denominator into an improper fraction
\[ 1 \frac{2}{3}= \frac{5}{3} \]
to divide 41/12 by 5/3 , flip the 5/3 and multiply (important to know this!)
\[\frac{41}{12}\cdot\frac{3}{5}= \frac{41}{\cancel{12}4}\cdot\frac{\cancel{3}}{5}= \frac{41}{20}\]
