My question has to do with microbiology. I am looking to see if anyone knows about the compartmentalization of function for bacterial cells. I was told that it has do with how Eukaryotic cells group? Also the homeostatic mechanisms which has to do with water balance and how that is performed? Please help

This is a very broad question (two very broad questions, actually).

As for "compartmentalization of function," that term is really too ambiguous to answer. In some contexts it refers to discrete, membrane separated compartments within a cell; I also interpret that to include localisation of different cellular processes to different areas of the cell which are not, however, separated from the rest of the cytoplasm by membranes. Local concentration gradients (rather than absolute concentrations in the entire cell) are very different in different parts of the cell.

And as for water balance at equilibrium, I suggest you look at the roles and regulators of a class of proteins called porins which are, essentially, like little pipes which cross membranes and at transporters which control ion gradients...
