Which of the following is the simplified form of ((y^(2)+y-12)/(y^(2)-9))? I got y+4/x+3 but need to know the restriction? is it y ≠ –3 or y ≠ ±3 Thanks

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

The restriction is whichever satisfies y^2 - 9 = 0. So, yeah, 3 AND -3 would fit well. This is because you have to check both the initial equation and your end-result for restrictions. (Not sure where you got that "x+3" in the denominator given an equation of only y's. ;[)

Haha ops :P thanks
