Find sum of (7/(6x^2y))+(3/(2xy^2))

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

first of all...your LCD is 6x^2y^2...it's pretty easy from there on..can you do it? :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha, let me see.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7y+9x

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

nope :p haha. you're missing the denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ooohh yeah. lol. so is it 7y+9x/6x^2y^2

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks!!! you're soooo helpful! you're a life saver. :)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so how does this one work.. (9+2x)/(a^2b^2c) find equivalent that has a denominator of a a^2b^2c^2

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

your multiplying your denominator by c...that's why it got squared...so for equality, multiply the numerator by c...don't forget to distribute

OpenStudy (anonymous):

9c+2c^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

was that wrong?

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

again...you forgot the denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol. sorrry. 9c+2c^2/a^2b^2c^2

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

and also it should be 9c + 2xc not c^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2xc? ooohh okay. sorry about that. thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2xc or 2*c?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

waittt, nvm!

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

you got it? ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you. :)
