In a hibiscus flower, the stamens are artificially removed. Still the flower develops into a fruit. Justify. (I wrote "Parthenogenesis". Is it correct?)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Please reply!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Probably because the stamens are not the organs responsible for the development of the fruit, they are as I recall the male part and the seed/embryo develops in the female part that I cant remember the name of for the time being.

U mean I can get marks for my answer??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Maybe, maybe not. I dont know hibiscus flowers but parthenogenesis might not be necessary since the female part can in most flowers get inpregnated by pollen from the environment, which would make parthenogenesis false, or more accurately, not necessarily true.
