can someone help me out with this other question PLEASE!!!!---> When solving inequalities, how is the relationship between the left and right sides of the inequality changed when both sides of the inequality are multiplied or divided by the same positive number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No change when both sides multiplied by same positive number e.g 5 > 3 5*2 > 3*2 However, when both sides are multiplied by same negative number, we have to flip/reverse the inequality sign e.g. 15 > 8 15*(-2) > 8*(-2) -30 > -16 is wrong because -30 is less than -16 so we have to flip the sign right answer is -30 < -16

is it the same when we are dividing to?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes the same.....
