What does it mean Describe the graphs of the following equations.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The problems are 1.x=2 2.x=-1 3.y=-3 4.y=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont get what to do...

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

So, if the graph is a horizontal line, then it will have an equation of 'y = ..." where the value would be the y coordinate for all the points on the line If the graph is a vertical line, then the equation is "x = ...", where the value is the x-coordinate. Maybe that will help? (It would be better to have the actual graph)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Still confused :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It doesn't have a graph.

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

Ohh, nevermind, I just got what the question was asking! Okay, well, the graph of something of "x=..." is a vertical line always on the point (x,0), where x is the value given after the "x=". The graph of "y=..." is a horizontal line always on (0,y), where y is the value given after the "y=". So, a graph of "x=2" would be a vertical line through (2,0). A graph of "x=-1" would be a vertical line through (-1,0) The graph of "y=-3" would be a horizontal line through (0,-3) y=4 is a horizontal line through point (0,4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so do I make a graph?

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

No, they only ask to 'describe' the graph. It should be enough.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I just write (2,0) and so on?

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

Yeah. "x=2 is a vertical line through (2,0)" and so on.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok then I think I'm starting to get it now Thanks.
