How can the process of natural selection change a population?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am not so well aware about this topic, but I found this site, here, check it out :D http://faculty.clintoncc.suny.edu/faculty/michael.gregory/files/bio%20101/bio%20101%20lectures/Natural%20Selection/natural.htm

Thank you buddy!

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Hmm do you essentially mean how natural selection works? If a certain population has a process effecting it it can change the population. (Hypothetical situation) say a predator moved in that only ate the bluest butterflies in a population of blue-green coloured butterflies. Now the bluest butterflies would not be able to reproduce because they get eaten but the greener coloured butterflies would survive and pass on their genetic information. This would cause the butterfly population -of that areas where the predator is -to be more green. Does that make sense :)
