if i have water whose boiling point is 100 degrees celsius in a beaker if i increase the temperature above it will the rate of evaporation be higher

No, according to the kinetic theory of temperature, the pressure of more active air molecules should keep the water molecules from evaporating as fast.

Indeed. That is why we increase the amount of water we add to cake mix at higher altitudes.

I personally did the experiment and found the rate of evaporation of liquids varies directly with temperature. With the increase in the temperature, fraction of molecules having sufficient kinetic energy to escape out from the surface also increases. Thus with the increase in temperature rate of evaporation also increases. No doubt it would provide cooling effect once the high speed vapor escapes, but you are providing energy by heating it up, so the net effect would be negative, not zero... but the answer greatly depends on the shape and the nature of the beaker (i assumed the beaker to be flat and open)... i found that the temperature of water does not change but the vapourisation rate increses(due to increased kinetic energy provided due to heat i supply) thank u all for responding!

Evaporation does increase with the temperature of water.... If the temperature is below the boiling point, then it will be evaporation and if the temperature is above the boiling point, it is vaporization...
