a ball is thrown straight up in the air as the ball rises does itz velocity increase decrease or remain the same? does its accelaration increase decrease or remain the same? help please
If we neglect air resistance, the only force acting on the ball after it's released is gravity, which is a constant downward force. So, as the ball is travelling upward the velocity decreases since the force acts opposite to its direction of motion. The acceleration remains constant as the force and mass are constant.
thank u very much :)
can u help me with the other parts?
The ball is thrown upwards, it's velocity decreases until the highest point where it can reach where it's instantaneous velocity becomes 0 for a moment and as it comes down, it's velocity increases, acceleration remains constant since the force with which it is thrown and its mass remain the same.|dw:1329738443479:dw|
