OpenStudy (anonymous):

during an investigation to test for the presence of carbon dioxide in inhaled and exhaled air, lime water became cloudy in the flask labelled"inhaled." is this the result you would expect? explain.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, CO2 is exhaled, I think. So, it would turn milky.

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Yes CO2 is exhaled, so we wouldn't expect the air that is going to be inhaled to turn the lime water milky. Though I'm not sure if normal air turns limewater milky...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There wouldn't be enough CO2 probably.

OpenStudy (trancenova):

Mmmm so then that isn't the result we would expect

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ideally, it would turn milky. But it would take a long time and practically there are too many other problems during an experiment that would prevent it from turning milky.
