When movies are being created, the set designers often use miniature models before they create the actual movie set. The set designers for Jurassic Park 3, created a 6 inch high and 4 inch long model dinosaur that represented a 20 feet long dinosaur on the set. How high was the actual dinosaur? I used to know how to do this but I forgot :/ I'm pretty sure I need to multiply things but I'm not exactly sure what to do. I just need someone to point me in the right direction and I can do the rest. Thank you.

Do I need to multiply the 4 6 and 20 together? or do I divide? I haven't got a clue.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay so to set up the ratio I would write: 4:6:20 That is all I know..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, convert everything into feet first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you have the answer and is it 30?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have an option for 30 feet. How do I convert those into feet? Do I square each number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Don't. It's not required ( I just realised). The ratio of the lengths is 20/4 = 5. So you multiply the height by a factor of 5 to get the right answer. Which is 30.

Ohh okay! Looking at what you just wrote makes so much sense. Thank you so much for your help! :)
