OpenStudy (vanz):

y=2/3x+15 in standard form?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No

OpenStudy (vanz):

oh no i mean what is the standard form of that

razor99 (razor99):

is that 2 over

razor99 (razor99):

3

OpenStudy (vanz):

yess

razor99 (razor99):

i mean like this

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

Standard form is Ax + By = C. So, we want x and y on the same side of the equals sign with integers for A and B, and a positive A. We could subtract off (2/3)x from both sides. -(2/3)x + y = 15 Since we want the A and B to be integers, and the A to be positive, we will multiply by -3 to cancel out the one denominator. 2x - 3y = -45

razor99 (razor99):

hey thats not even in standard form

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

What is standard form, then?

OpenStudy (vanz):

we multiply each and every term by 3 because we cant have a fraction in Ax right>?>?

OpenStudy (accessdenied):

Yeah.
