So I'm working on a piece-wise function. I've simplified them but can't for the life of me remember how to graph it! The book is no help, my simplified piecewise function is 0.30t-20. Can anyone kind of point me in the right direction?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is not a piecewise function, but in any case the graph will look like a line with slope .3 and y - intercept -20

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well the function was C(t) = 40 + .30(t-200). I was told to simplify then use point-plotting to graph the function. Sorry if I used the wrong terminology =\

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rather, that was one part of the function that was to be used. The first part didn't apply.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes you are right, that is the same as \[C(t)=0.3t - 20\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it is a "linear" function, the graph is \[y=.3t - 20\] which is of the form \[y=mx+b\] a line with slope m and y - intercept b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ah ok. Awesome! Thank you so much.
