What is the slope of the line passing through the point (4, −3) and perpendicular to the line y = 2x + 1? Write your answer as a fraction.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=2x+1

OpenStudy (amistre64):

we would need to know a little something about perp lines and their slopes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the scope of line perpendicular to a second is just the negative of the inverse of the first line's scope , this case first scope is 2 then the scope of the perpendicular is -1/2

OpenStudy (amistre64):

and when you insert slope for scope; that makes perfect sense :)

oh sorry ^_^ my english mistakes
