An animal cell is growing and is active. The cell is going through which subphase of interphase? a. G1 b. G2 c. S

OpenStudy (blues):

It helps if you also describe what about the problem you don't understand. Or tell us which answer you think it is. In this case, the three subphases of interphase are G1, when the cell is going about its normal physiologic functions, S when it's replicating its DNA in preparation for cell division and G2, when it has finished replicating its DNA and is completing final preparations for division... So which do you think is most likely?

OpenStudy (blues):

I have to go soon, so if you have questions about my answer please post them soon...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

G2?

OpenStudy (blues):

That's a good guess, but I think it's G1. The cell is increasing in size and it's active - in the context of this problem I take "active" to mean "ordinarily employed in normal cellular function." Which probably means, not getting ready to divide. Clear?

okayyyyy. that makes sense. thankyou
