Likewise, can we please stop giving answers to all these h/w problems and ask mayrameza to think through the problem and her best stab at them.

OpenStudy (jamesj):

What does your textbook say about this? Or your class notes?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (jamesj):

Well, then your teacher wants you to do some work, and try and find the answer. We can give you all the answers here, but you're not learning much, are you? Do a simply google search on this question and see what you find.

OpenStudy (jamesj):

For example, this is the 4th link that came up on google, and it gives you the answer, and a good one too http://www.worsleyschool.net/science/files/magnet/earth/asamagnet.html

In geophysics, dynamo theory proposes a mechanism by which a celestial body such as the Earth or a star generates a magnetic field. The theory describes the process through which a rotating, convecting, and electrically conducting fluid can maintain a magnetic field over astronomical time scales.Magnetic fields have had many uses in ancient and modern society. The Earth produces its own magnetic field, which is important in navigation. Rotating magnetic fields are utilized in both electric motors and generators. Magnetic forces give information about the charge carriers in a material through the Hall effect. The interaction of magnetic fields in electric devices such as transformers is studied in the discipline of magnetic circuits.
