hi, I just set up a server on my computer (Ubuntu 11.10 Desktop) and I am trying to forward the port for I cannot access it on my network nor outside of my network. can someone help me? I have Apache, php, and Webmin installed (I'm very new to this and just followed these videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJlxE83RtcM&feature=related https://www.youtube.com/watch?annotation_id=annotation_219070&src_vid=qJlxE83RtcM&feature=iv&v=NQrF5Uf3nJE )

Have you checked that your firewall[s] is/are allowing traffic to port 80 in? BTW, residential ISPs usually block port 80, so once it works inside, you may still have issues outside.

If you want to forward a port, you'll most likely want to look at iptables. Ubuntu 11.10's Uncomplicated Firewall is a frontend for iptables, and if UFW doesn't give you obvious GUI options for it, you could set up the port forward directly in iptables with webmin. Look here: http://doxfer.webmin.com/Webmin/LinuxFirewall#Introduction_to_firewalling_with There's a section close to the bottom on port forwarding.

OK, I'll take a look.... BTW, I have DD-WRT on my router, if that changes anything.
