Find the lengths of the missing sides in the triangle. Write your answers as integers or as decimals rounded to the nearest tenth. Diagram is not drawn to scale. https://www.connexus.com/content/media/456845-2232011-94631-AM-694817531.png can you please explain how to do this sum.

OpenStudy (ash2326):

In the triangle it's given that 45 degrees is opposite to 7, we need to find x and y x33 do you know the measure of angle which is not given? one is 90, another is 45, what's the value of the third angle?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

x33 answer me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

45

OpenStudy (ash2326):

X33 sum of angles in a triangle is 180 degrees so 180-(45+90)=45 so the unknown angle measures 45 degrees. Now sides opposite to equal angles are equal, so y opposite to 45 is equal to 7 opposite to 45 so y=7 Do you know Pythagoras theorem?

OpenStudy (ash2326):

vengeance please don't answer directly. Let him work it out

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, I do.

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Can you use it here to find x? the other two sides are 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, you can.

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Find and tell , what's the value of x?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

7^2 + 7^2 = x^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

49 + 49 = x^2 98 = x^2 9.89 = x

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Yeah correct, great work x33.!!!! Did you understand the solution?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, thank you so much!

OpenStudy (ash2326):

welcome x33, You did a great job:)
