Yup Restriction Enzymes, unbelievably useful for DNA examination and forming recombinant DNA in the lab for PCRs etc we use them to amplify certain stretches of known and unknown DNA, with it we can add resistance properties to bacteria t help select them out so we can use them to produce things like insulin etc or recreate certain sequences we need to exam the genetic code of disorders like Cystic Fibrosis. They are v.v important in Diagnostic Genetics
