What is the quotient: (6x^4 – 15x^3 + 10x^2 – 10x + 4) ÷ (3x^2 + 2) ? my notes dont help

OpenStudy (rulnick):

2x^2 - 5x + 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you find that ? can you show me step by step

OpenStudy (rulnick):

The first step is "how many times does 3x^2 go into 6x^4?" Answer: 2x^2. That's the first term.

OpenStudy (rulnick):

Next mult 2x^2 by the divisor, same as for ordinary long division. Subtract, "bring down" the next term, and continue, as with ordinary long division.
