How would you use the word "fun" as a plural? Theoretically "funs" is a word, but I can't ever think of when it would be used.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Fun as a plural would still be fun, Like: All students had a lot of fun.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, according to the dictionary it really is a word, but it's a verb.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What kind of action do you think is conveyed by 'fun'? can't think much sozz.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that's what I don't know, hence why I'm asking

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lol weird..I never knew that its a verb..nice find though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea, it showed up in a word game I'm playing with a friend, but he's an engineering major, and doesn't question this stuff so much. So I'm asking here!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Most typically (and in more of what would be considered standard English), "fun" is an adjective or a noun. It is a verb in expressions like "I was only funning you," which is more slangy. In terms of its use as a noun (as in, "the students all had a lot of fun"), it has only that one form. There is no word "funs." In terms of its use as an adjective (as in, "it was a fun day" or "she is fun to be with"), there would be no plural form.
