Let x = the number of scrambled egg/ 1 toast sold Let y = the number of egg sandwiches sold

Then, x + y = 13 and 1*x + 2*y = 21 --> This is for the bread used, 1 for just eggs and 2 for each sandwich. We have to solve simultaneiious equations: (substitution method) x + y = 13 so x = 13 - y 1*x + 2*y = 21 so 13 - y + 2y = 21 y = 8 ---> 8 egg sandwiches
