is(100),(010) and(001) planes in crystallography are same..?

OpenStudy (chmvijay):

yes

OpenStudy (mihai):

no, they're not is something like axes x,y,z and so the plane (100) si for x axis, (010) for y axis and (001) for z axis|dw:1330167652464:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

mihai....But if you change teh origin and axes..its one and the same,,...isn't it

OpenStudy (mihai):

can you draw an example of what you just said?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you are taking the hkl planes on a fixed axes i e x, y and z in a definite planes, they are not the same.....and therefore for a given coordinate they wil represent different orientations...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(100), (010) and ( 001) are from same family of planes... but they are not same..... In a unit cell when you choose a origin for some thing then you can't change it for that particular. choosing an origin is like setting a standard/reference for work...
