if you are taking the hkl planes on a fixed axes i e x, y and z in a definite planes, they are not the same.....and therefore for a given coordinate they wil represent different orientations...
(100), (010) and ( 001) are from same family of planes... but they are not same..... In a unit cell when you choose a origin for some thing then you can't change it for that particular. choosing an origin is like setting a standard/reference for work...
