ln(2x+1)=2-lnx solve for x i got -3/2 but i think thats wrong,any corrections?

OpenStudy (dominusscholae):

Sorry but no. To solve, add ln x to both sides. Then using a rule for logarithms and finding the inverse of the logarithmic function formed you can then use the quadratic formula to solve for x.

OpenStudy (dominusscholae):

Also don't forget extraneous solutions!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

dont u add e to both sides instead of lnx

OpenStudy (dominusscholae):

No. To solve for x you need to add ln x to both sides so the -ln x term to the right is canceled out. Then using the subtraction rule for logarithms, you can simplify two logarithms into one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its e^2= 2x^2+x u use completing the square maybe>.< remember the quantity must not equal to negative number since log of negative is impossible
