OpenStudy (aravindg):

find the equation of sides of a parallelogram ,given that they are parallel to 5x-y=0 and 7x+y=0 and that a pair of opp vertices are (1,3) ,(-2,4)

razor99 (razor99):

hey u are from maldives right

OpenStudy (aravindg):

is that the answer?

razor99 (razor99):

no

hero (hero):

AravindG, when you post questions, it makes me sleepier

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When everyone only gives irrelevant responses, I laugh.

hero (hero):

I was just being honest. I'm sleepy. And you know, you could have just posted the solution. Instead, you responded to my irrelevant response :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We have the slope, since we know it's parallel, and we have one point at each side of the quadrilateral. We can solve for an equation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Hero I said I laugh when someone gives irrelevant responses, not that I'm against it. :D

hero (hero):

Oh wow, is that how you ping someone? lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For instance, two lines are y=-7x+b. Slope only. We know the points (1,3) and (-2,4). Solve for both to get the equation of parallel lines. Rinse and repeat with the other. Do you have any questions?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

hw do we repeat with other?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=5x+b with the same two points.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

hw u got that?

OpenStudy (aravindg):

??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5x-y=0, solve for y; -y=-5x, y=5x, but since this is just a parallel line, y=5x+b with the points given.

OpenStudy (aravindg):

hw u get y=5x+b
