Which word is not connected to the others: a) give in b) leave c) quit d) give up I'd go with a or b. What do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's \( \boxed{a} \)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'd go with B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it's D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I still think it's a... For instance, imagine this: - where is she? - she letf. she gave up. she quit. (she gave in doesn't sound the same as those)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But "give up" is the only phrasal verb

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I thought ''give in'' was kind of a phrasal verb as well

OpenStudy (ash2326):

Melinda option b is not connected to others

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you sure, ash? Leave can also mean give up sometimes, right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's b

OpenStudy (ash2326):

See if look at the options a, c and d give in, quit and give up these all mean to cease something may be to cease fighting or arguing but leave doesn't mean that

OpenStudy (ash2326):

* we

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Give in= to quit resisted, and give up. Give up= to give up Quit= Stop resisting and give up. Leave= to go away. To a degree leave can be used to say "give up" but that almost never the case.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, ok. Thanks everyone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know how I didn't see the "in" of the A op. My bad...
