@Syed 13, "deviate" will not work here, nor will "lure." A novel might appear to be of one genre (in the way it starts out, for example) and then deviate from those conventions, but a reader cannot deviate into a novel. Likewise, a novel might be so well written that it lures you in, but again a reader cannot lure into the novel. deviate (v) = to depart from an established course, to depart from usual or accepted standards lure (v) = to tempt someone to do something or go somewhere, particularly by offering a reward lure (n) = something that tempts or is used to tempt
