how do i determine the slope of a line given a graph

OpenStudy (rulnick):

if it's vertical, the slope is undef. if it's horizontal, the slope is 0. otherwise ...

OpenStudy (rulnick):

make a right triangle by moving right from any point on the graph of the line, then up to another point back on the line.

OpenStudy (rulnick):

the slope is the "rise" (move up) divided by the run (move right)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the points i have are (0,-5), (5,0)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I lied... it's 1

OpenStudy (rulnick):

|dw:1330307887525:dw| slope here is b/a, so for you it is 1
