Solve the following radical expressions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\sqrt{3x+4} + \sqrt{5y+6} = 2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

square each term

OpenStudy (anonymous):

move a sqrt on the right side of the equation, then square both sides..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it is just 3x+4^2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do i square them?

OpenStudy (mertsj):

You can't solve that. You only have 1 equation and there are two variables.

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Did you copy it right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes i did that is exactly how it shows it in my book...

OpenStudy (mertsj):

With an x on one side and a y on the other?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh whoops that is supposed to be 3y my fault.
