A 5kg objuect is projected up the rough incline with friction acting as shown. Calculate the rate at which the upward velocity changes.

Are you going to post a picture of this? Without details from a picture, the rate of change of the velocity is the acceleration. Add the upward force and the frictional force and set it equal to ma. Of course, if you're given the angle, you'll have to break the mg part of the force up into components, so you work with the part of mg in the direction of the plane. And the normal force will be derived from the component that is perpendicular to the plane. Without a picture, that's probably confusing.
