Can we use initial condition first and then boundary conditions in method of separation of variables?? if no, why?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

ivp and bvp are similar; but constitute 2 different beasts

OpenStudy (amistre64):

boundary defines an interval or such as a condition; initial tests the same point for successive derivatives

OpenStudy (amistre64):

y(0) = 1 ; y'(0) = 2 ivp y(0) = 3; y(pi) = 5 bvp

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what this has to do with first and last makes the question a bit nonesensical to me

OpenStudy (amistre64):

it reads to me like they strung a bunch of math sounding words together hoping that it might make sense but just comes across as rambling ...
