-24z^5+44z^4+40z^
I think you might have missed the last exponent on "40z^". Are you trying to factor this equation?
-24z^5+44z^4+40z^3
Yes you're right, I corrected it.
Factor the trinomial by grouping.
Sure, well the first step is to find common multiples in each term. First look at the variable z parts. The lowest is z^3 which can be taken out of each term making the equation z^3(-24x^2 +44z + 40) Then you take out the highest coefficient (number before the z) multiple of each term. I can see a common one of 4 between them all resulting in 4z^3(-6z^2 + 11z + 10). Now you have a quadratic formula which can either factor out or use the quadratic formula to get the answers (x - 5/2)(x + 2/3) which the total factored out equation would be 4z^3(x-5/x)(x+2/3).
