Rewrite 3-4i into trigonometric form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Imagine y as 4i and x as 3. Using imaginary numbers in this way is called an imaginary plane. I'm assuming the question asks for it in polar coordiantes which means you have a degree of an angle and a magnitude (radius), so the degree would be arctan(-4/3), and remember that your y (-4i) is negative and your x (3) is positive meaning that it's in the 4th quadrant so the answer you get on your calculator is probably wrong, but you just need to translate it. The magnitude can be found using pathagorean's theorem, C=squrt(A62 + B^2). Hopefully this helps!
