What type of bonding do Ligands exhibit?
Mainly covalent bonds.
mainly?
i am not really getting the concept of ligands
Well, I do not know of any exceptions, but they might be there
You are studying coordination compounds?
What makes a Ligand a ligand, i am only in my first week of inorganic chem
yes i yam
Well, actually, I am not so good at inorganic chemistry. But I know that ligands are those atoms or ions which donate an electron pair to the central atom of a compound, forming a covalent bond. I havent studied Coordination compounds yet, but you can read up on this: http://www.chm.davidson.edu/vce/coordchem/Ligands.html
thank you
A good book for inorganic chemistry is Chemical Principles - the quest for insight by Peter Atkins and Loretta Jones. You can download an ebook of it. Tell me if you need the download link
i have "Inorganic Chemistry" by " Peter Atkins, Tina Overton, Jonathan Rourke, Mark Weller, Fraser Armstrong". Peter Atkins is author of both
Yeah can i have that download link i can seem to find one on my own
http://thepiratebay.se/torrent/6875166/Chemical_Principles_-_The_quest_for_insight_%284th_edition%29. Actually, you can download this only if you have utorrent or any other bit torrent client
