Does anyone want to study PHP w me - I m using the book "PHP, MySQL & Javascript" by Robin Nixon (O'Reilly Press) - great book and would love to participate in a collaborative learning process - it's so much more effective to learn w others
Why not? Do you also have the ebook?
No - I have the physical book. Is the e-book a better way to go for these collaborative learning processes ? (also, is an e-book something i can view on my laptops and iPhone or do I need to get a Kindle, iPad etc?)
Not necessarily. It depends on how you prefer to study. I guess that I'll look for it on the net. :P And yeah you can view ebooks on laptops, mobile phones and other technological devices. ;)
Don't worry. I found the ebook. Finally :)
Fantastic - I've read and done exercises up to chapter 4, exercise 4-16 (page 70). Let me know your thoughts on the best way to collaboratively learn. For some types of content (e.g., enterprise applications like Salesforce) I have used the following process - if there are 4 major sections or chapters then we would assign sections to people - person A is in charge of preparing section 1, person B section 2 etc. Then A leads a session on section 1, B leads session on section 2 etc. Not sure if that is the best way to go through this content (PHP, MySQL and Javascript). Let me know your suggestions or ideas ..
Could you quickly post the link to it here? I may be interested as well.
A programmers life is a lonely life
Howcome?
Because 90% of at least 5 years of your life is spent behind a terminal after you put in 12 hour days for 5 years you will finally be ready for a vacation and you can either decrease work or continue to work depending on your tolerance for pain. I have average intelligence and this is my experience.
My brother is a computer scientist and a mathematician, and he has a beautiful girlfriend and, sure, he spends most of his time working as a cryptanalyst for some government agency, but he also has a fun life outside the work environment. I'm sure it all boils down to how well you can manage your time.
@ssaikia About the learning process, I have some ideas about it: 1. You can join the facebook openStudy group: http://www.facebook.com/groups/207811035937814/ We can then create another specific closed group in facebook. Anyone can see the group and who's in it. Only members see posts. Every person, who are interested, will have to post here or in the OpenStudy facebook group. The invitations will then be sent accordingly. ssaikia can be the Administrator since he was the first to create the collaborative learning group. ;) 2. Use a specific group in openStudy: http://openstudy.com/study#/groups/Design%20CSS%20HTML%20JavaScript%20Jquery%20Web Each section (Javascript, PHP and MYSQL) will be posted as if they are 3 seperate questions. Every time, we need to update information, it will be done for the respective section.
I like your FB idea - let's do it. I just asked to join the FB OpenStudy group.
@ssaikia I guess that you haven't yet been accepted in the openstudy facebook group. Did you create the facebook group for PHP, MYSQL and JAVASCRIPT?
No I did not create that group - was I supposed to ?
