A very common and well know (maybe even the most well known) poem that uses personification is the Mother Goose poem The Cat and the Fiddle

Just about any fable that you come across uses personification. Read anything by Aesop. The Ant and the Grasshopper is a very famous fable featuring personified insects, but I prefer using personification with inanimate object because if makes for more powerful impressions.

The chair sat lonely in the middle of the room.

The car spoke in a language that was guttural and primal.

The sun chased the clouds away, but a few lingered cowering like whipped orphans.
