I'm wondering if someone can help me find a poem or quote with personification ..?
I forget what my teacher said I think she wants a poem?
Personification is giving human attributes to non-human objects or animals.
kk ;D
The clouds were crying large tears from the sky.
did you create that?
Yes
EPIC
How about Dinnertime Chorus by Sharon Hendricks The teapot sang as the water boiled The ice cubes cackled in their glass The teacups chattered to one another. While the chairs were passing gas The gravy gurgled merrily As the oil danced in a pan. Oh my dinnertime chorus What a lovely, lovely clan!
Or if you need something from a more famous author try Two Sunflowers Move in the Yellow Room by William Blake "Ah, William, we're weary of weather," said the sunflowers, shining with dew. "Our traveling habits have tired us. Can you give us a room with a view?" They arranged themselves at the window and counted the steps of the sun, and they both took root in the carpet where the topaz tortoises run.
cool :D I like it
A very common and well know (maybe even the most well known) poem that uses personification is the Mother Goose poem The Cat and the Fiddle Hey diddle, Diddle, The cat and the fiddle, The cow jumped over the moon; The little dog laughed To see such sport, And the dish ran away with the spoon.
she show us that in class :D
If you want to go with a quote then Oliver Wendel Holmes has the famous quote: Ask not what your country can do for you but ask what you can do for your country.
Louis Pasteur once said, "Science knows no country, because knowledge belongs to humanity, and is the torch which illuminates the world. Science is the highest personification of the nation because that nation will remain the first which carries the furthest the works of thought and intelligence."
Just about any fable that you come across uses personification. Read anything by Aesop. The Ant and the Grasshopper is a very famous fable featuring personified insects, but I prefer using personification with inanimate object because if makes for more powerful impressions. The chair sat lonely in the middle of the room. The car spoke in a language that was guttural and primal. The sun chased the clouds away, but a few lingered cowering like whipped orphans.
awesome thanks ;D
I appreciated good night
