Write an equation in slope-intercept form for the line that passes through (-5,3) and is perpendicular to the line described by y= 5x.

Allright, I dunno how they have you do it in your class, but you can do some trig to figure this out. So you say that you start from the origin and go down 5 units and right 3. A perpenducular line would have a 90 degree offset so it would rise 5 units and go to the right 3 units from that meaning the equation should be something like y = 5/3 - 10 or so since the y intercept would reflect to be 2 times the normal one.
