60 degree = angle 4 angle 3=90 using the fact that triangle has 180 angle 5=30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

180-30=150

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sweet thanks, can you help me with problem 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK - you have one angle showing 60 degrees. since line b and c are parallel, angle 4 also equals 60 degrees. Angle 3 is 90 degress, so angle 5 is 30 degrees (rule of 180 degrees in a triangle.) That makes angle 2 (180 - 30 = 150 degrees)

Hint: two equations to help you solve problem two: 6x^2 + 6x = 180 4x^2 + (2x+40) + 6x = 180

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 4?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think so. 6x^2 + 6x = 180 6x^2 + 6x - 180 = 0 6 (x^2 + x - 30) = 0 x^2 + x - 30 = 0 x^2 + x = 30 So if x = 4, you'd have 16 + 4 = 30. Close, but not quite...
