Can someone explain to me how the principle of square roots is used to solve quadratic equations and what form must the equations be in to use the principles of square roots for solving?

Just a guess: Maybe they're referring to something like (x-2)^2. So both things have to be the same. So when you square root it, the result will be what's inside. And you can proceed from there by solving the equation.

Sounds like a good answer. :)

Thanks so much now I have to find a way to put it into my own words.
